Twelve Towns Bandcamp Download

So, last year when I recorded my Nervous Energies session (which became the Chicago Cassette), I was also able to record myself playing 5 of the Twelve Towns songs live for the TT LP release. These tracks were only available with the vinyl digital download of TT, but now you can check them out (and purchase them) from the link above.

Also, note the stuffy nose tour cold I have. Can you hear it? Someone pass the Emergen-C

Edit: Also, for whatever reason, Bandcamp lists them in alphabetical order instead of the track list of the album. Yo, WHAT GIVES Seth and Kevshelf?? <3

I know you look through this tag and I want to ask a question that I would ask on the GK tour if I were able to go, but alas, I am not. I don’t even know the best way for you to answer this. But anyway, what is it like for people to use the music you make to define their own taste in music? I know a lot of people that would put you at the top of their list when someone asks what kind of music they listen to. I’m really curious what that’s like for you.

Into It. Over It.: GK Tour Pre-Sale / Limited Tour 12"
So the folks at GK asked all of the bands taking part in the GK tour this spring to record cover songs of other bands on the tour for a compilation LP that will be released when we hit the road. I decided, seeing as Dan from The Wonder Years somehow fit a story about us going to a house show and getting tacos together into one of their songs (Don’t Let Me Cave In) that that song would be an appropriate one for me to cover and make my own by changing some of the lyrics accordingly.

I’m really excited to hear The Wonder Years cover of Anchor. This was a really fun project to work on and be a part of.

All the same, I still maintain that Chicago never looks desperate (best city)

52 New Bands: Week 1 (1/1-1/7) Into It. Over It.

Pretty close dude. This was written in NJ, where I grew up and lived until I was 24. 6 days to write a song. 3 hours to record it. All of them are about things that happened that week. Completely spur of the moment and autobiographical.

IIOI started as this recording project, 52 Weeks. It was never intended to be released, distributed or even go any further than Week 52.. Was just a fun free download project between 2007 and 2008. I didn’t even start playing shows really until 7 months after it’s release in 2009.

The drummers on 52 Weeks are Mike Howard (from Fight Amp), Jason DiNapoli (from my old band The Progress) and Steve Poponi (from UUDD). Everything else is me for the most part.

I’ve since moved to Chicago and Nick Wakim has played drums on IIOIKOJI and Proper. He’s also the drummer for Stay Ahead Of The Weather and plays guitar and sings in a band called CSTVT.

Glad you enjoyed it. I know it’s overbearing, but to separate it would have taken away from the project. I suggest listening to it in 10 song intervals.

52 Weeks

For the very first week I will be listening to the album 52 Weeks by Into It. Over It. I think this is a great way to start my musical journey. This album was recorded over an entire year, with one song written and recorded each week. How fitting for my 52 New Bands project.
